2021-2022 MGDP Highlights

Thank you for the feedback and positive response to the initial information we provided on updates to the focus on MYHA goalies for the 2021-2022 season.

We’re happy to announce that the following represents the highest level of goalie development we’ve put in place, along with a short description of each and how to participate.

  • Goalie Registration Discount
  • New MYHA goalie equipment cost assistance – Contact equipment director Ryan Carlson at for additional information
  • Pre-Tryout clinics – Stauber's Goalcrease will run pre-tryout sessions at Pagel.
  • MYHA Pre-Tryout clinics – Sessions led by MGDP to familiarize goalies with the drills and experience what will be used for the tryouts.  Sessions schedule will be announced in August.
  • Updated Goalie Only Tryout Format – See age-specific pre-tryout parent meetings for details.
  • In Season Weekly Goalie Training (Bantam, 15U, Peewee, 12U, Squirt, 10U) – Increasing the touchpoints throughout the year for goalies specifically, offering a goalie-specific training opportunity EVERY week throughout the year.
  • In Season Monthly ‘Try Goalie’ Sessions – Geared toward 3rd/4th-year Mites, 8U, 10U, and Squirt-aged players who want to ‘try’ goalie a bit more than the rotating schedule may allow.
  • Pre-packaged coaches drills for goalies – Holistic goalie training curriculum condensed and packaged for coaches to easily implement as part of practices throughout the year.
  • Monthly Goalie parent communication sessions – Standing monthly discussions on what is going well, what isn’t going well with goalie training throughout the year.  Will will provide the opportunity for parents to ask questions of each other, of the goalie coaches, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
