Mite Coaches,
Thank you for volunteering to coach Mite hockey in Minnetonka. Mite hockey is the foundation of Minnetonka Hockey and instills a passion for hockey that lasts a lifetime. The Minnetonka Youth Hockey Association is committed to creating a fun-filled environment of learning hockey’s basic skills and building a passion for the great game of hockey in the State of Hockey! One of our primary objectives is to continue to build an organized approach to teaching skill development using our Hockey Development Committee for guidance.
This year we have hired Sean Goldsworthy to “coach the coaches”. This is a 3 session progressive clinic for the coaches with a handout from Sean that focuses on teaching proper skating technique. Sean’s “HOW TO COACH GOOD SKATING TECHNIQUE” will be the foundation of every coaches practice plan for years to come.
This is a mandatory coaching clinic for all coaches at the Mite level. You must sign in at each session in order to hit the ice for the hockey season. The session dates are as follows:
Sunday, October 11 at 11:30am – 12:30pm PAGEL
Monday, October 12 at 9:00pm – 10:00pm PAGEL
Sunday, December 13 at 6:40pm – 7:40pm PAGEL
There is a $30 cost for each coach (this covers all 3 sessions). MYHA will be investing another $40 per coach and ice to pay for this clinic.
