Minnetonka 10UA won the 2017 Duluth Icebreaker Tournament this past weekend. Led by Jordyn Helling's three goals and Quinn McDonald’s strong goaltending, the Skippers defeated rival Edina 5-1 in the championship game Sunday afternoon at Amsoil Arena. In opening day of pool play, Minnetonka outlasted teams from Andover and Osseo/Maple Grove by 3-2 and 2-1. Minnetonka and Andover finished 3 periods in a 2-2 tie and remained tied after a 5 minute overtime. Minnetonka's Lauren Strothman’s shootout goal secured the win. Strong goaltending from both goalies highlighted the Minnetonka win over Osseo/Maple Grove. |
