The Minnetonka Squirt B Black squad leveraged suffocating defense, timely scoring and a hot goaltender on its way to winning the Rogers Bar Down tournament on Sunday, December 4th.
Tonka opened the tourney by blanking St. Louis Park in their opening game, 4-0. On Saturday, they bounced back from a disappointing early morning 4-3 loss to Buffalo to best previously unbeaten Rogers 6-3 and advance to the tournament title game. In the final contest, Tonka outlasted a pesky and persistent Lakeville North team and rode goalie Eddie Boime to a 2-0 shutout victory to claim the tournament’s top prize. |
